Wooden Serving Spoon Set

Hand-carved serving spoon, spatula and salad servers in olive wood. Food-safe oil finish. A wooden spoon is a kitchen staple made from solid hardwood used for mixing, stirring, and scraping food without scratching non-stick surfaces. Key Benefits • Safe for Cookware: Will not scratch or damage non-stick pans, ceramics, or glass. • Low Heat Transfer: The handle stays cool to the touch even when left resting inside a hot pot. • Natural Durability: Closed-grain hardwoods like maple, beech, olive, and cherry last for years without bending or melting like plastic. Best Materials & Design • Hardwoods: Choose dense closed-grain woods like maple, beech, or teak rather than porous softwoods. • Solid Construction: Look for utensils carved from a single piece of wood rather than glued handles. • Shape Variations: A rounded bowl works best for liquids, a flat or cornered edge helps scrape pan bottoms, and slatted versions drain excess liquid. Care and Maintenance • Hand Wash Only: Never put wooden spoons in the dishwasher, as high heat and water cause cracking and warping. • Dry Completely: Let them air dry fully before storing to prevent mold or bacteria growth. • Oil Periodically: Rub with food-grade mineral oil or beeswax every few months to keep the wood from drying out or splintering. • When to Replace: Discard the spoon if it develops deep cracks, becomes soft, or starts to flake.
